Repaired raspberry

Repaired raspberryRepaired raspberries are grown to produce one or two crops per season. Having received the first harvest in August from annual stems, next year you can harvest at the end of June on biennial stems. However, the quality of the berries of the second crop is lower than the quality of the berries of ordinary raspberry varieties, they have less spread and a larger composition of solids. Summer harvest is tightened, so the shoots forming the second summer-autumn harvest do not have time to reach the required sizes.

Growing these varieties of raspberries for obtaining two crops costs only with good care, which includes systematic watering and the inclusion of good nutrition for the proper development of plants.

In order to get a good harvest every year, after fruiting, pruning is done. Two-year-old shoots of summer varieties are cut to the ground after harvest, the strongest one-year-olds are left to form the crop for the next year. To obtain one raspberry crop at the end of summer, all the shoots are cut to the ground level.

Many gardeners, trying to cultivate bushes of their plants, cut their tops to have a height of about a meter, but this method will delay the beginning of fruiting and reduce the yield, because raspberries begin to form berries from the tops. To ensure a good harvest of berries, the tops are cut at 10-15 centimeters, until the first healthy kidney, this is done in April, when the buds are poured with juices, at which time it is easy to see how long to prune.

Strong thickening of raspberry crops can lead to diseases, so between rows leave a distance of 1-1,5 meters. On the meter of each row there should be no more than 15 plants, half of which should bear fruit this year, and the other half should consist of one-year-olds for replacement.

Repair varieties of raspberries are best planted in autumn, so plants will get better and you will get the first full harvest in August of next year, and the first early harvest in a year.

When planting seedlings in spring, they cut off, watering is carried out for a month, until the plant does not take root. When planting for the winter, only the strongest one-year-olds with a well-developed root are selected. Before planting, the stems must be shortened, the roots dipped with a soil mash. Cuttings are settled in an upright position at the bottom of the furrow with a distance of 30-50 centimeters, after falling asleep with a fertile mixture, their tops are pruned to the ground level.

Repaired raspberries prefer light soils well seasoned with organics, plantations are fertilized with repaired compost or cow dung, while the soil is mixed with the fertilizer so that the roots do not touch it.
